CHAPTER THREE

DESCRIPTIVE TEXT

1. The definition (Pengertian)

Descriptive text adalah jenis teks yang menggambarkan seseorang, benda atau tempat tertentu sehingga pembaca dapat membayangkan seolah-olah yang diceritakan itu benar-benar nyata.

 

2. Characteristics (Ciri-Ciri Descriptive Text)

a.       Descriptive Text menggunakan attribute verb, seperti be (am, is, are)

b.       Descriptive Text menggunakan simple present tense

c.       Descriptive Text hanya fokus pada satu objek

d.       Descriptive Text menggunakan kata sifat (Adjective)

 

3. Generic Structure (Generic Struktur Descriptive Text)

     Ada beberapa susunan umum (generic structure) agar tulisan kita dianggap benar, yaitu:

a.     Identification. Bagian ini menerangkan benda apa yang akan dideskripsikan.

b.    Description. Bagian ini merupakan deskripsi benda tersebut, berisi detil karakteristik, sifat, dll.

 

4. The Purpose (Tujuan Descriptive Text)

Tujuan dari descriptive text adalah untuk menggambarkan dan mengungkapkan atau mendeskripsikan ciri-ciri dari orang, benda, hewan , tempat dan lain-lainya. Descriptive text dibuat tanpa melakukan penelitian secara detail, jadi penulis hanya menulis cerita descriptive text berdasarkan apa yang dilihat dan didengar.

My New Bag

 

I have a new bag. Its color is dark blue. I always bring it when I go to school. It is made of strong fabric.

There are some parts of my bag. The first part is the pocket. I put my money and my library card in the pocket. The second part is the main part. I put my books and pencil case in this part. The third part is a small pocket at the left side of the bag. I keep a bottle of water in this pocket. I love my bag.
