A.   Asking and Giving Attention

Asking attention/Meminta perhatian adalah ungkapan yang digunakan untuk meminta perhatian dari seseorang. Giving attention/Memberi Perhatian adalah ungkapan yang digunakan untuk memberikan perhatian/respon.

 

     Contoh-Contoh Ungkapan

Asking for attention 1. May I have your attention, please? 2. Can I have your attention, please? 3. Excuse me 4. Attention please! 5. Listen to me 6. Look here. 7. Sorry to trouble you. 8. Look what I’ve got here.

Giving Attention 1. Yes Sir/Ma’am 2. I see 3. Oh, yes. Really? 4. All right 5. Is that all? 6. Tell me more about it. 7. What happen next? 8. How interesting! What’s next?

 

      Contoh Dialog

Mrs. Susi       : Don’t be noisy.  Attention please!

Students        : Yes, Ma’am

Mrs. Susi       : Okay, next week we will do mid-examination.

Students        : What!

Mrs. Susi       : Listen to me!

Students        : Yes, Ma’am

Mrs. Susi       : The material that should be learned is from Chapter 1 until chapter 4. 

                      Don’t forget to enrich you vocabularies with exercise!

Students        : Yes Ma’am

Mrs. Susi       : Okay, that’s all for today. Good luck then!
