PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE

 

A. The Definition (Pengertian Present Continuous Tense)

Present continuous tense atau yang biasa juga disebut dengan present progressive tense adalah tense yang menjelaskan pekerjaan yang sedang terjadi saat ini. Dikatakan present karena terjadi saat ini dan dikatakan continuous karena pekerjaannya sedang dilakukan (dalam progres atau dalam pengerjaan).

 

B. The Formula and the Example (Rumus  dan Contoh kalimat Present Continuous Tense)

Bentuk Kalimat	Rumus	Contoh Kalimat
Positive (+)	S + is/am/are + Verb-ing	He is watching cartoon, now. (Dia sedang nonton kartun sekarang)
Negative (-)	S + is/am/are + not + Verb-ing	He is not watching cartoon, now. (Dia sedang tidak nonton kartun, sekarang)
Interrogative (?)	Is/am/are + S + Verb-ing	Is he watching cartoon, now? (Apakah dia sedang nonton kartun, sekarang?) Yes, he is/No, he is not

 

C. Adverb of Time (Keterangan Waktu dalam Present Continuous Tense)

1. Right now                           : sekarang
2. At the moment                 : pada saat ini
3. Today                                   : hari ini
4. At present                           : pada saat sekarang
5. Now                                      : sekarang
